For a population of 1.2 billion people, the Aadhaar project is very well on it’s way to bringing the identity of Indian citizens into the digital age. During the RSA conference that took place in February of 2013, the CEO of Khosla Labs Srikanth Nadhamuni stated that 30% of India’s population have bank accounts. The one of the purposes of Aadhaar is to verify more of these accounts with identity and to help empower the poorest citizens.

When it concerns direct subsidies that the Indian government spends 25-40 billion a year on, we can see that a majority of the country’s population benefits from these but there are leaks that according to The Fifth Elephant is on average of 30 - 40%, due to ghost and multiple identities generated through certain programs. No doubt this is a result of corruption.

There are 116 ticketed monuments and 32 museums under the protection of ASI. E-ticketing facility has been launched in coordination with Canara Bank with the aim of providing online booking facility for visitors. Moreover, the facility is proving to be less expensive when compared to manual ticketing system which was prevalent earlier. Additional benefit will be in terms of relieving ASI personnel, mostly monument attendants, who will now be able to concentrate on the security and maintenance of monuments instead of dispensing and checking tickets.

As of now, online ticketing service has been initiated for all ticketed monuments. Process is underway to procure hardware to have computerized facility for the sale of e-tickets at the Point of Sale also. E-ticketing facility (online and at site) has already been started at several monuments in Agra and Delhi, that include Taj Mahal, Agra and Humayun’s Tomb, Safdarjung Tomb, Tughlakabad Fort, Old Fort (Purana Qila), Red Fort, Kotla Firozshah, Jantar Mantar, New Delhi.

Quite obvious that all such places attract various types of vistors who can be easily idenfied for security if aadhaar services is linked with such e-ticket online system in real time.

Every day new and existing services are linked with aadhaar online verification system but what is the scenario with business people?
