Urban Administration and Development Minister Amar Agrawal participated in Vibrant Gujarat 2017 at Gandhinagar on Tuesday. The central focus of this eighth edition of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit is 'Sustainable Economic and Social Development'. Mr. Agrawal attended the ceremony which was inaugurated by Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi. Mr. Agrawal was distinguished guest on the dais. Mr. Dimitry Rogozin, Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, Mr. Aleksander Vucic, Prime Minister of Serbia, Antonio Costa, Prime Minister of Portugal and Paul Kagame, President of Rwanda addressed the gathering at the inaugural ceremony. Minister Agrawal had detailed discussions with Chief Ministers Mr. Vijay Rupani of Gujarat, Mr. Devendra Fadnavis, of Maharashtra, regarding immense potential in Chhattisgarh. Amar Agrawal attended lunch hosted by PM Narendra Modi.

Swami Vivekananda inspired global youth to follow ideals of humanism: Dr. Raman Singh : Chief Minister greets citizens on Youth Icon's Jayanti
Chief Minister Dr. Raman Singh today wished the citizens of the State on the auspicious occasion 154th Jayanti of world-renowned saint Swami Vivekananda on Thursday (12 January). Dr. Raman Singh while mentioning that the day is celebrated as National Youth Day said that Swami Vivekananda is an inspiring personality to the youth all over the globe. The great visionary showed the true path of enlightenment with his great philosophy, ideals and pragmatism. Chief Minister revealed that the natives of Chhattisgarh should be proud of the fact that Swami Vivekananda spent sometime in Raipur during his formative years. The International Airport in the capital and technical institute at Bhilai Nagar had been named after him as a mark of respect to the nationalist Indian.

Dr. Raman Singh assured the youth that the state is committed to the socio-economic and moral transformation and welfare of youth. Chhattisgarh is the first state in the country which made law for the skills development of youth in 2013. Several projects had been launched to raise the skills of the youth. Livelihood Colleges had been started in all the 27 districts of the State. Chief Minister added that several scholarships had been introduced in institutes of higher learning. The loans are being given to students at Zero rate of interest in the Left-Wing Extremists affected districts and at One per cent interest rate in peaceful regions. Swami Vivekananda Youth Promotion Project is meant for the citizens in the age-group of 15-35 years to develop their personality.
